all the woodwork.

Benefits of the Design/Build Process

The combination of construction and design being conducted under one roof has several benefits:

Communication

The heart of the project. It’s a fine balance. Too little communication and nothing gets done. With too much communication, the more things seem to require change, add time & cost, and lose quality. Typically, between you, an architect and a contractor, there is complicated, six-way communication. But our Design/Build process means only two-way communication from beginning to completion.

Quality

The lasting character of the project. When the designer can monitor the project daily, sometimes even hands-on, the quality will be maintained throughout the project and for years after.

Timeliness

Perhaps the most important of the three elements in the here and now. Timeliness is what we do today & what we plan for tomorrow to further our progress. With design and construction being handled by you and your Design/Build Team, time is manageable and expectations can easily be set up front, creating fewer challenges during construction. Additionally, since there will be two-way communication throughout both Design and Construction, you’ll never lose valuable project time holding up a job until an architect can get out to see it.

Consider the hours you’ve spent developing the plan of your dreams only to have a contractor come along who needs to be apprised of ALL the communication that took place in the design stage in order to understand why it’s being built: that equals time & money lost. Without our Design/Build process, communication can gradually degrade to the point where Quality is sacrificed.
